Francesco Manna is an Italian comic book artist internationally recognized for his work at Marvel Comics, where he has illustrated Carnage, Predator, and The Rise of Ultraman (created in collaboration with Tsuburaya Productions). His visual language combines precise line work with atmospheric shadow — a style that translates the Lovecraftian aesthetic without resorting to cliché.
This print was commissioned specifically for the Masters of Madness collection. The composition centers on Lovecraft the writer — not the tentacles, not the mythos creatures — but the man who built a universe alone, in a room, in Providence, at the end of the 19th century's last exhale.
