Before It Ever Reaches You, the Creature Has Already Crossed Another Threshold

There is a stage in making a new piece where the statue still belongs to only a few people. The sculptor. The painter. Whoever wrote the concept. Then comes the moment someone who has never set foot in the studio looks at it for the first time — and writes about it.

That happened on September 3rd, when 5motivi.it, in its Collezionismo e Giochi section, published its preview of Frankenstein (Creators Edition), written by Andrea Aurora — the second chapter of our Masters of Madness Collection. Not a reprinted press release, not a spec sheet: a reading of the piece as narrative work, before it's ever treated as a collectible object.

The Heart No One Asked For

There's a line in the article worth more than any spec sheet we could write ourselves:

"The doctor gave him a brain. Mary Shelley gave the Creature a heart."

That's the exact core of what it means, to us, to bring Shelley to 1/10 scale. The novel isn't about a monster — it's about hybris: a man who believes he can create life without paying for it. The Creature is proof that something more than matter entered that body, and that's what we tried to make visible in the resin, in the marble-and-iron base, in the brass gears holding together an invention and a mistake.

What It Covers, Without Covering Everything

The preview includes the details we wanted to come out first through an outside read, not through our own spec sheet: the Creature's two interchangeable heads, the base that stages the collision between science and raw matter, the bundle with the 12cm bust and the art print signed by Pasquale Qualano.

What the article doesn't cover — because that's not a preview's job — is how all of this takes shape in scale, in edition size, in the way the piece will reach the hands of the people who collect it. That part, we'll tell ourselves, when it's time.

Chapter II of a Collection That Doesn't End Here

For anyone arriving for the first time: Frankenstein (Creators Edition) is the second chapter of the Masters of Madness Collection, the series Studio Everart dedicates to the authors who defined gothic and literary horror. Chapter I brought H.P. Lovecraft to scale; this second chapter returns to where it all began — not the monsters, but who created them, and what it cost.
